An accredited testing laboratory through the Association of North American Independent Laboratories For Protective Equipment Testing

Arnett Testing Laboratory (ATL) serves as a division within our company, enabling us to offer both in-house dielectric testing and field testing in accordance with ASTM, ANSI, IEEE, and OSHA standards and regulations.

The ATL is the only NAIL for PET accredited testing laboratory in the Northwest.

An extensive range of testing capabilities

We perform tests on an extensive list of materials, including rubber insulation safety goods, underground cable acceptance and failure analysis, grounds and jumpers, cable proof testing, boom truck and Hot Line tool dielectric testing, an on-site URD fault locating for both primary, and secondary cable. We also repair and recondition all types of Hot Line tools.

We also ensure the safety of the following products: insulating Hot Line tools, hand cutters, connector tools and compression tools, tool heads and hand tools, line hoses, insulating plastic covers and protectors, protective jumper cables and grounding equipment, switchboard matting, and personal protection products.

  • Lab Testing — standard turnaround is 10 working days
  • Insulated Rubber Glove Test — acceptance test of new or retest of used gloves
  • Blanket Dielctric Test — acceptance test of new blankets or retest of used 36" x 36" blankets. We also test odd-size blankets
  • Miscellaneous Dielectric Tests — sleeves, barriers, connectors, hoses and hoods

 

Special testing and services

On-site testing

  • Fault location — primary cable (customer site) high potential "thump" for primary cable only.
  • Fault location — secondary (customer site). Faults located on direct buried unshielded URD cable
  • Proof test — newly installed or repaired primary cable (customer site) high potential test per ASTM standard for cable rating

On-site or laboratory testing

Boom trucks — dielectric test (customer site or at Arnett Testing Laboratory); tested to ASTM standard for upper/lower booms (For sites more than 50 miles from Portland, Oregon, please call us for rates.)

Hot Line tools — dielectric test (at customer site or Arnett Testing Laboratory)
