Manufacturing excellence since 1971

For four decades, Arnett Industries has engineered and manufactured diagnostic tools and equipment for service connection testing, underground distribution, and direct current fault locating, as well as equipment for revenue protection.

Unleash the Mega Beast on service complaints
Secondary service conductor tester

The Mega Beast is as easy to use as the original Beast of Burden, and it's more powerful than the Super Beast. In 20-amp increments, you can apply an 80-amp load to detect the most elusive problems on secondary service.

In addition, the Mega Beast can be utilized to verify the installation of new service connections in order to ensure proper voltage supply.

The Mega Beast features fusers and circuit breakers for user safety, too.

  • 80-amp artificial unbalanced load
  • Indicates problems on secondary service
  • Detects open neutrals quickly and accurately
  • Incredibly easy to use--the same basic, simple steps apply in all operating models of the Beast units

"Great product. I have four people investigating voltage complaints here at Niagra Mohawk and they all have the Mega Beast. With 80 amps of load we never have an insufficient amount. It is a very efficient and effective tool for voltage complaints and neutral swings".

Gary Peacock of Niagara Mohawk, Glen Falls, New York

Tap the power of the Super Beast
Secondary service conductor testers

For more than 30 years, the Super Beast has enabled more than 500 electric utilities to save time and money in determining the condition of secondary service. Within seconds, a troubleshooter can tell if the conductor is open, resistive, or functioning properly, even when temporary or intermittent faults may mask a deteriorating conductor.

The Super Beast is also capable of verifying the installation of new service connections to ensure proper voltage supply.

  • Indicates problems on secondary service
  • Detects open neutral quickly, accurately
  • Isolates and identifies overhead or underground complaints on utility side
  • Verifies condition of secondary conductors and associated connections
  • Available in analog and digital models

DC Scout leads the way
DC distribution ground-fault locator

When you're under tight time constraints, rely on the DC Scout to quickly locate ground faults—with as little as 2 mA of current—in nuclear plants, power generation plants, oil refineries, chemical plants, ships, and fire alarm systems.

The DC Scout has no disconnecting leads to isolate grounds in complex circuits and the device enables you to accomplish the following:

  • Locate ground faults without de-energizing circuits
  • Follow pulses to ground with clamp-on detector probe
  • Troubleshoot critical control systems quickly and accurately

The Pinpointer
Secondary cable fault locator

Turn to the Pinpointer to locate secondary cable faults in direct buried unshielded cable to within inches of the fault, even under snow or frozen ground, at street light circuits, at the meter rise, and under driveways, sidewalks, and streets. You don't even need to know the exact route of the cable.

For more than 30 years, the Pinpointer has saved substantial time and money for the electric utility industry. Take advantage of the following benefits:

  • Highly accurate
  • An economical locator solution
  • Cable proof-test instantly determines whether cable is good or bad

The Pinpointer locates secondary cable faults in direct buried unshielded cables to within inches of the fault, even under snow or frozen ground, at street light circuits, at the meter riser, and across driveways, sidewalks, or streets.

A-frame Adapter for the Pinpointer

Make cable-fault locating even easier, when you pair the Pinpointer with the A-frame Adapter. The Pinpointer detector easily attaches to the A-frame with two screws and pre-wired banana plugs.

The extremely functional design of the A-Frame Adapter enables you to locate cable faults with ease and precision.

The Squirrely
Squirrel and bird guard for secondary transformer bushings

There's a fast, inexpensive, and safe way to prevent outages caused by squirrels, birds and rodents without de-energizing at the transformer. The Squirrely is a specially designed small-animal guard, and we've insulated the stinger an extra 10-12 inches from secondary transformer bushings.

The Squirrely offers the following advantages and benefits:

  • Highly effective in preventing electrical outages caused by squirrels and birds
  • Can be installed while the service is still energized
  • Easily installed with any style of shotgun
  • UV protected for extended life
  • Can be installed by one person from the ground using a telescoping hot stick with the Arnett Industries AID tool

Field Air Inflation Tool (FAIT)

If you work around energized circuits, the new Field Air Inflation Tool (FAIT) is a valuable safeguard.

FAIT makes the daily visual inspection of your rubber insulating gloves simple and efficient. Simply slide the end of the cuff of the glove into the jaws of the FAIT. Roll the glove over and around the FAIT to create a tight seal for better inflation and superior visual inspection of your rubber gloves.

Keep safe with FAIT!
